DEBATING
Jamison High School is participating in the Western Sydney Debating Competition this year.
This involved students from Year 7 and Year 8 who will debate other schools at a Gala Day this term. Students in Years 9 or 10 will be participating in the Premier’s Debating Challenge. Any students who are interested and/or have experience in debating are to let Mrs Jackie Angove in the English Department know of their interest
We are also fortunate to be hosting the Rostrum Public Speaking Competition. This is a very prestigious event in which Jamison High has been very successful in the past. Students who would like to compete are to see Mrs Dianne Pizarro in the English Department.

Year 10 Debating.
The Year 10 Debating Team consisting of Brooke Bradley, Dean Gough, Whitney Higginson and Steven McLean have been competing in the Premier’s Debating Challenge. The Team won all three zone debates. We competed successfully against two Kingswood High teams and Chifley College.
The next challenge for our team was the Inter-Zone debate against Homebush Boys High. Our team argued their case with determination and confidence and were able to go on to the quarter finals against a very strong and competent Girraween High. Despite excellent arguments from our team, Girraween proved to be the better team on the day and has made the team more determined to go further in this competition next year. The team were a fine example of sportsmanship and a credit to the school. Congratulations!
