Luke Potts and I recently attended a regional meeting for SRC at the district office in Penrith. At
the meeting there were students from Winmalee High, Cranebrook High, Penrith High and other
schools in our region.
We discussed Jamison High School’s improvements and programs that our school had completed
since last meeting.
Some programs that other schools in our region undertake are very interesting and we then
brought them back to our school SRC for discussion.
Luke and I had a great time at the meeting interacting with other student leaders in the Penrith
region.

REGIONAL SRC WORKING PARTY REPORT
On 18 June 2010 I went to the working party meeting for the campference. This day was a very
structured and productive day. We have to put so much effort into the campference for it to take
place in September.
The day consisted of meeting our partners for our groups, choosing colours of our groups,
discussing the activities that we are doing at camp and organising t-shirts. All members have three
jobs to coordinate for the camp and I am organising the disco, ice-breakers, media and group
folders. Being on the working party you have to be really dedicated and get your work done or you
let the whole group down.
The working party has been a great experience so far and I can’t wait till the camp in September to
see that all the hard work has paid off.

On 28 May 2010, as Captains we were invited to the New South Wales Parliament. It was a day
where Captains from the Sydney region were invited to experience the life of parliament and meet
politicians. The day allowed us to ask personal and open minded questions to find out what the
political life was like. We were introduced to politicians from our region like the mayor of
Londonderry, while we also had a formal questioning session with Nathan Rees. A highlight of the
experience was the tour of the Government House. It was here where we got to meet the
Governor - Marie Bashir. The day also allowed us to interact with many of the other Captains
around the Western Sydney district from schools like Penrith, Glenmore Park and Blaxland. This
program for Captains is held every year, so it is an experience for the up and coming Captains to
look forward to.
